This measurement is the final measurement module in our BQS course. In this semester, we learnt about 2 types of measurement that are non-conventional to the main building works, which are Mechanical and Electrical Services as well as Civil Engineering works.
In M&E Services, among other items, we learnt about sanitary plumbing services and how they function throughout a housing unit. I realised that the drawings for services may not be as clear an direct as compared to main building works, and require more time to understand and clarify.

Another aspect of measurement we learnt was Civil Engineering works, which is based on an entirely different set of rules called the Malaysian Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (MyCESMM) developed by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). In this section we measured civil works such as reinforced earth wall and railway tracks.

In summary, this measurement module completes our knowledge in measurement for a wide range of works in the industry. I believe that, if given a chance, we will be able to apply what we have learnt here in our works in the future.
